About the hospital
Why we refer here
A listed Indian healthcare group running hospitals, diagnostics and day-care speciality facilities. Because it reports to the stock exchanges every quarter, almost everything we tell you about its size can be checked against a filing rather than a brochure.
Fortis operates thirty-six healthcare facilities across twelve states — a count that includes joint ventures and hospitals it runs under operate-and-manage contracts — and roughly 6,100 operational beds, about 1,200 of which are in those managed facilities. We repeat the company's own qualifiers because they change what the numbers mean. Four of its hospitals hold JCI accreditation and thirty-four are NABH accredited or certified, so the question worth asking about any Fortis referral is not whether the group is accredited but which unit your case is going to — and that is exactly the question we settle in writing before anyone travels. Cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, neurology, gastroenterology, oncology and renal sciences are the six specialities the group reports as its largest.
- 36 facilities across 12 Indian states, including JVs and managed hospitals
- Four JCI-accredited hospitals; 34 NABH accredited or certified
- Visa requisition letters sent directly to the Indian mission
- Airport pick-up, interpreters and currency exchange at the hospital

Accreditation
- Four hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International
- Thirty-four hospitals NABH accredited or certified
- Publicly listed on the NSE and BSE
Centres of excellence
What Fortis Healthcare treats
Comprehensive care across a wide range of specialities, delivered by expert teams under one roof.
Cardiac sciences
The group's largest speciality — interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery and heart failure care.
Orthopaedics
Joint replacement, spine and sports injury surgery, increasingly robot-assisted.
Neurosciences
Neurology and neurosurgery, covering stroke, epilepsy and brain and spine surgery.
Gastro sciences
Digestive and liver disease, endoscopy, and hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery.
Oncology
Medical, surgical and radiation oncology, with bone marrow transplant at several units.
Renal sciences
Nephrology, dialysis and kidney transplantation across the network.
The consultants we have profiles for
8 Fortis Memorial consultants, from the hospital’s own flyers
Fortis has shared 8 promotional consultant flyers with us, all of them for Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. It is a set of profiles rather than a staff directory of the Fortis network, and the pages below say only what those flyers say — without the marketing superlatives.

These filters open the full profile directory already narrowed — 8 Fortis Memorial flyers we hold for Gurugram, not a staff list of the Fortis network.
International patients
What the international patients desk actually does
Fortis publishes less about this than the others here, and we have deliberately not filled the gap. What it does state is specific and useful: the visa requisition goes from the hospital straight to the Indian mission rather than back to the family to forward, and pick-up, interpreters and currency exchange all sit inside the hospital.
Visa and invitation letters
Visa requisition letters sent by the hospital directly to the Indian mission — the family is not the one carrying the paperwork between the two.
Airport transfer and arrival
Airport pick-up on arrival.
Language and interpreters
Interpreters at the hospital. Fortis names no languages, so nothing here says Bangla — our coordinator does the talking until it does.
Estimates, currency and payment
Currency exchange at the hospital itself, so a family is not looking for a money changer in an unfamiliar city on the first morning.
Insurance
The hospital publishes nothing here
Nothing published that we can currently read. Plan on paying the hospital directly, and if you hold a policy you think should apply, tell us early — we will put it to the desk before anything is committed.
Accommodation
The hospital publishes nothing here
Nothing published that we can currently read, which for Fortis means we book it. We arrange the family's stay near whichever Fortis hospital the case goes to, to your budget.
Which Fortis, first
Fortis is a network of 36 facilities, not one building, and this desk is a network service. The unit matters more here than anywhere else on this page, and we settle it in writing before anyone travels.
